I am a contemporary visual artist, based in West Cornwall. My artistic practice combines traditional painting with conceptual installations, the common element being a focus on immersion in the subject backed up by contextual research.
Walking is a critical part of my practice, and the resulting familiarity with the landscape, means that I don’t have to be there to create new work in the studio.
I completed an MA in Fine Art Contemporary Practice at University College Falmouth in 2012, investigating the meaning of landscape and the process of painting, and completed the Newlyn School of Art Mentoring Programme in 2019. I am a member of the Oxford Art Society.
I have recently completed the year long mentoring programme at NSA. The final show was held at the PZ Gallery in Penzance on 22nd November 2019.
10 works were installed in Tremenheere gardens for Sol Force, a mid summer celebration of the arts, curated by Jesse leroy Smith. 21 June 2019. The sculptures are installed around the pond and will gradually disappear as they weather.
