The challenge of this project was how to represent the conversations visually. It was important to me that I use words and images, and the existence of 1000’s of watercolour strips, and photogranphs of work in progress, provided an answer.
I pasted the watercolour strips onto marine ply in parallel lines, re-creating the work in progress I had photographed.
The result was 7 paintings which represented my past, our conversations and the artist’s present. I added some text from our conversation to the paintings.
