‘I have been a tree amid the wood
And many a new thing understood
That was rank folly to my head before’
I grew up in Bristol and spent a significant part of my childhood playing in the woods near my home. This became a familiar and significant environment for me and I am constantly drawn back to walking in woods for peace, insight and reflection.
The painting of trees has been a consistent source of inner satisfaction.
