Simon Schama suggests landscape paintings

For me the boundary between sea and land can be both wild and calm, dangerous and beautiful, personal and universal, with every tide tracing the ebb and flow of human joy and  misery. Once I’ve walked the land, I don’t need to be there to paint this liminal space, somehow I can draw on memories of time spent there.
